New Spells: Combat Illusions
The most updated version of this content can be found within The Impermissicon, a free 254-page compendium that you can download right here, filled with 24 subclasses, 3 prestige classes, 2 feats, 107 spells, 118 spell variants, 91 monsters, 61 magic items, 24 poisons, 23 diseases, and even more goodies themed around lycanthropes, vampires, and forbidden magic for both players and DMs!
Do you wish that your Illusionist Wizard had more offensive spell options? Would you like to be able to build a sorcerer who only has illusion spells to represent someone with purely illusion-based magic? Today we’re previewing minor Illusion spells intended for combat from The Impermissicon!
Disguised Blast is a simple low-level illusion spell designed to be a bread-and-butter combat option for illusionists. While the spell deals force damage, which is normally very hard for monsters to resist, monsters with blindsight or truesight (over 100 of them in the MM I believe) effectively have resistance to this illusion spell anyways. If you wanted to be like Marvel's Loki, watching your foes attack your allies only for them to realize that they attacked their own allies disguised by your illusions, then Illusory Reversal is exactly the spell for you. And Mystify is the illusion-variant on Mortify, a potent single-target spell reminiscent of a higher-level guiding bolt in its effects. Choose between a Charisma saving throw Enchantment spell that can't affected targets immune to charmed, or an Intelligence saving throw Illusion spell that can't affect targets with blindsight or truesight.
The Impermissicon is a compendium planned to release in the first half of 2020 (hopefully the first quarter), which focuses on forbidden magic and dark forces! It will contain blood magic, lycanthropy, twisted curses, vampires, dark gods, fallen heroes, a large array of new forbidden spells, and even new prestige classes.
